Pierre Lafourcade is Senior Global Economist at UBS, based in New York. He joined the Global Economics team in September 2016. Prior to joining the investment bank, he spent 15 years in three different central banks, starting his career at the Federal Reserve Board, moving on to the Dutch Central Bank, before being called up by the European Central Bank. His remit included research, modelling, forecasting and policy briefing at multiple levels in these three institutions. Prior to joining the central banking world, Pierre worked as an equity analyst for CSFB in London, and a project evaluator for the French Development Agency in Mali.
He graduated from HEC School of Management in Paris and obtained his PhD at the University of Cambridge (the old one). He took a sabbatical in 2015-2016 during his wife's fellowship at Harvard, and he misses Boston very much.
